Kirk attended San Diego State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics in 1990. One year later he completed his Master of Science degree in Nuclear/Radiological Physics. Kirk is a native of San Diego, California where he grew up during the 1970’s and 1980’s, and spent the first 25 years of his life.
Kirk spent the first 12 years of his professional life as a Physicist / Sr. Engineer at multiple nuclear power plants in California and Arizona, as well as working as a Nuclear Inspector throughout the United States for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. His nuclear career eventually brought him to beautiful Phoenix, Arizona in 1994, where he met his lovely wife and settled down to start his family.
In 2001, after many years of unexplored interest in the field of banking and finance, Kirk made a major career change by becoming a mortgage banker. While many of his nuclear colleagues thought he was “nuts” to make such a drastic career change, Kirk found that his science and engineering skills translated well to the financial world. In an effort to expand his knowledge in his new profession, Kirk went on to obtain numerous professional financial credentials including licenses for property and casualty insurance, life and health insurance, series 6 & 63 financial advisory licenses, an Arizona mortgage broker’s license and mortgage loan originator licenses in Arizona, California and Washington, as well as completing his Arizona Real Estate Agent license. Helping people achieve financial success through his mortgage lending services is Kirk’s full-time passion. And obtaining these additional credentials has served to make Kirk a much better mortgage advisor to the families he serves. Kirk never stops learning and growing his knowledge base to better serve his clients. Kirk’s success as a mortgage manager and loan officer is ultimately attributed to his background as a scientist/engineer/inspector. His detail oriented, analytical and critical thinking approach to mortgage lending allows him to create a smooth seamless mortgage process for his clients while being able to explain to them the complexities of the home loan process in a simple, straight forward and easy to follow manner.
Having spent the first 12 years of his professional life in an industry where errors and mistakes can have life threatening results, Kirk realizes that the timely closing of a home loan does not exactly compare. However, he still applies the same traits and skills he used in his previous profession to ensure that every family’s home loan is treated with the same high level of skill and attention to detail to minimize mistakes and errors, and to make sure every opportunity exists to have a smooth, stress-free and on-time closing. After all, just because your home loan may not be a life or death situation, doesn’t mean it isn’t very important. Your home loan most likely involves your largest financial investment and the house that your family calls “Home”! And therefore it is very important to Kirk!
Kirk is currently licensed to originate home loans in Arizona, California and Washington State.
